My name is Jamie, and I have over 20 years experience of teaching and leadership in outstanding grammar schools and World Class Status schools. I have been a private tutor since 2013 and an examiner since 2012. I have a PhD, MA(Econ), BA, PGCE and fully enhanced DBS. I passionately believe in the grammar school system as the best and most egalitarian way of enabling the brightest learners to excel, and I am equally passionate about making first-class, expert tuition affordable and accessible to all families. 

The 11+ exams employed by selective schools across the country consist of a combination of English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Some schools write their own exams, but most draw on two exam boards: GL and CEM, with GL being the most common. I have developed a systematic approach to preparing students for the 11+ which leaves no stone unturned, having broken down each of the four branches into their component parts. Through six 'terms' of eight weeks, I lead small groups of up to five students in online lessons that teach, formatively assess, and feedback on each component, with a complimentary mock exam in the fifth term.
